The BatteryAide BG-SM1 is a smart 5 - stage intelligent battery charger and maintainer that is suitable for indoor as well as outdoor use. The BatteryAide BG-SM1 is designed for charging a variety of SLA batteries used in Cars, Motorcycles, Scooters, ATV's, Lawn Mower's, Tractors, Boats, Trucks, RV's, Jet Ski's, Snowmobiles, Wheelchairs and other like equipment. Suitable for petrol / diesel engines up to 3000cc. As well as charging, the BatteryAide BG-SM1 Smart Charger can effectively maintain your batteries and rescue deeply discharged batteries down to 5V. Charges batteries much faster than traditional chargers. Safely charges Wet, GEL, MF and AGM batteries with microprocessor technology.

Charging Steps (Always connect the battery terminal leads to the battery first, then connect to the main supply)

Step 1: Reset
When connected to the battery & then the power supply, the device will automatically reset itself and go into standby mode.

Step 2: Diagnosis
The unit will automatically establish the correct battery voltage and then start charging, at this point the charging indicator will illuminate. If it is a faulty and is unrecoverable, the Faulty battery indicator will illuminate and the charger will not charge the battery. If the leads are connected wrong, the Faulty indicator will flash.

Step 3: Fully Charged
When the battery is fully charged, the Full charged indicator will illuminate.

Step 4: Battery Maintenance
The charger will then monitor the charge of the battery and maintain a battery charge as long as it is connected, keeping the battery fully charged.

If the battery is frozen, connect the battery in the normal way and when the unit indicates that is is charging, press the mode button so that the frost symbol indicator illuminates, the charger is then set for charging a frozen battery.
